So, a logical response to my presence (or, rather, lack thereof) on deviantArt could be, "Where the heck are you, man? You showed so much promise, but we haven't seen squat from you outside of journal entries for a year now!" Oh, sure, I've responded to many comments on my story and have certainly favorited a
LOT of stuff, but there's been nary an artistic peep out of me for almost a full year now. So, what's the big deal?
Well, that's a multi-part answer, probably best described by my most recent video on my YouTube channel (same username as here, but here's a link anyway:
[link]. In short, school, then me being lazy, then school again. Except the second school part carries a tiny distinction: I'm in Chile, y'all! That's right; I'm spending a semester studying abroad in Chile. So, even though I do spend a decent amount of time on the Internet still (host families are required to have access to high-speed Internet, thankfully), I'm just not as motivated to do pony stuff. When I'm at home (the "me being lazy" part of that list; also, to clarify, I mean home in the States), I try not to spend too much time doing pony stuff so as not to antagonize my mom, who isn't a huge fan of how much of my time ponies take up. To stave off people commenting unkind things about my mom (as happened on a previous journal entry), I'd like to say that we've had a couple calm and intelligent discussions on the topic, so it's not like she's uninformed or trying to be strict just for the sake of flexing parental muscles. OKAY?
Anyway, as evidenced by the sketch I just put up, I've decided to chronicle my artistic progress. I'm going to try to start sketching stuff when I have the time and motivation, and I'll put the results up here. There will be non-pony content in there, though I'd imagine I'll be looking for opportunities to figure out what my style (if such a thing exists) as applied to ponies looks like.
As for fanfiction, I
am still planning on writing more; it's just not likely to happen until spring semester at this point (well, Northern Hemisphere spring semester; it already
is spring
here). Of course, by that point we'll be into season three, and I'll have even more material to draw from anyway.
Also,
MASSIVE thanks and shout-out to !
